Sophienburg Museum and Archives hosting TRACES' Vanished: German-American Civilian Internment, 1941-48 The Sophienburg Museum and Archives is hosting a special exhibit January 7 to February 9, 2010. During WWII, the U.S. Government interned 15,000 German-American civilians at over 60 camps and detention centers across the country with eight of them in Texas. A non-profit organization based in Minnesota, TRACES, has created a travelling exhibit that tells the story of this unique time in our history.
