Found your posting of the passenger list of the Ship Weser that arrived in Galveston July 1844. Adam Bockel is my Great-Great-Great Grandfather. F Asmus Bockel (we know as Erasmus) is my Great-Great Grandfather. Lorenze Rausholt (later known as Lawrence Kaufolt and Kaufold) married Adam’s daughter Dorthea. Family legend is that Adam’s wife died on board ship and he shortly after arrival but I have information the wife lived several years after arrival. I am lookeing for any marriage, cemetery records, etc. that list any Bockel, Rausholt-Kaufolt-Kaufold.
