  I am a researcher for the Texas Peace Officer memorial. I am looking for any information on the killing of City Marshal Hampe on in January 0f 1883. He was killed by Napoleon Pitts. I need this info in order to place his name for the Texas Peace officer Memorial and the Nation Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC.

  Try the Sophienberg Museum in New Braunfels. They have an extensive collection of the Herald Zeitung newspaper dating back to 1852. Many are in German but they can help with translation and searches.
