The Klein Family History involves many German families who settled in Texas and California in the 1800s, including Dreyers, Neddenrieps, and Heimsoths. Stephan Klein and his family were among the First Founders of New Braunfels, arriving with Prince Solms and the first wave of German settlers in 1844 to the Republic of Texas. The Kleins were from the village of Hattenheim, Germany on the Rhine River, famous for its wines. Members of the family settled in New Braunfels, Santa Clara Creek, and Marion.

The Heusers of Gummersbach, Germany were a very prominent family. There is much written about Johann Peter Heuser, but most of it is in German. Two members of the Heuser family emigrated to Texas at different times. We don't think they knew one another in Texas, but fortunately their descendants are getting to know each other now. Members of the family lived in New Braunfels, Seguin, and Marion.
