­“One Whole Day of Colonial Virginia” by Barbara Vines Little, C.G. will be the topic of a seminar by the Houston Genealogical Forum on October 18, 2008 in Houston. Her lectures will be: Records and Repositories; Colonial Land Patents; and Colonial Wars and Militia Service. Lunch will be available onsite. ­­

Barbara Vines Little, C.G. Professional genealogist since 1982, specializing in Virginia record sources; past president, National Genealogical Society; former president and current governor, Virginia Genealogical Society, Virginia course coordinator and instructor, IGHR (Samford University); editor, quarterly Magazine of Virginia Genealogy; former editor, Virginia Genealogical Society Newsletter; and has published three volumes of Virginia court records. ­

1) “Research in Virginia: Her Records and Repositories, Part 1”

2) “Research in Virginia: Her Records and Repositories, Part 2”

3) “Digging Deeper: What We Can Learn from Colonial Land Patents”

4) “Colonial Conflict: Virginia's Colonial Wars and Militia Service”

The above four seminar lectures focus entirely on the records of colonial and pre-Federal Virginia. It is designed to thoroughly cover all aspects of this period research by the Samford Virginia research course coordinator. If you have Virginia ancestors and you are stuck, this is the seminar for you. If you have Virginia ancestors and you want to know more about them and their relationships, this is the seminar for you.
