TI believe the most recent issue of the German-Texan Heritage Society Journal had a history of one Bode family with descendant charts. There are also Bodes in Wharton County.
Arliss Treybig

Arliss

---------------------------------
Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. There is an old post about Bode/Radetzsky. This refers to Robert Bode
(1823-1902) and his wife Johanna Radetzsky (1828-?). They came to Texas in
1855 and eight of their eleven children survived infancy. Only the first was
born in Germany; all the others were born in Texas.

If anyone has information about them or ancestors, please let me know.

One of Murphy's Law of Genealogy... When you find the obituary for your grandmother, the information is garbled. Her name is exchanged with her daughter's, the whereabouts of her sons is unknown, the date for her father's birth indicates he was younger than she was.
