Repeat hurricane dooms Indianola<BR><BR>On this day in 1886, the town of Indianola suffered through the second day <BR>of a devastating two-day hurricane. The settlement, on Matagorda Bay in <BR>Calhoun County, was founded in August 1846 and named Indian Point. I am a direct descendant of the Wilhelm Heinrich Reider that is referred to <BR> in this post. He and his brother, Daniel, departed Antwerp on September <BR>1, 1846 and arrived in Galveston on October 24, 1846 on the ship Colchis. <BR>The origin was Lemscheid. William's record is Record #3184.
