The Walzem Chapel is located a few miles west of New Braunfels.  From New Braunfels, go out TX46 West to Bear Creek Road (FM 2722).  Stay on TX46 and continue PAST Bear Creek Road and turn into the first subdivision to the left.  Follow the main street into the subdivision as far as it will go.  The Walzem Chapel is about 100 yards from the street inside an iron fence.

The CCGS visited the Harvey Schaefer Ranch on a field trip in Jun 2005.<br/><br/>
The ranch is located in far west Comal County.  An old cemetery of historic interest was visited as well as this well-preserved log cabin.<br /><br />

The CCGS at the Harvey Schaefer Ranch
CCGS members loading up and ready to tour the historic Knibbe Ranch at Spring Branch, Texas.  The Knibbe ranch has been in the Knibbe family over 100 years.  Old Spring Branch is located in the northwestern part of Comal County about 25 miles from New Braunfels.<br /><br />

On tour of the Knibbe Ranch
The Knibbe ranch tour involved a visit to a historical indian camp site where buffalo were stampeded over a cliff and a lively discussion of the history of the ranch which at one time extended from the Guadalupe River to near the Twin Sisters Mountains which are visible from a hill on the ranch.<br /><br />
